Gold Seal Award of Merit

2007-2008 Guidelines


The following guidelines will be used to determine recommendations for Gold Seal Chapter of Merit Award. These are minimum requirements. They are listed to serve as a guide for chapters in planning their local programs of work.

Minimum Criteria


Complete and submit form for Chapter Excellence or Outstanding Chapter (Business Achievement Awards). (Refer to Section VI of the national Chapter Management Handbook for information and forms.) Attach copy of submitted form and documentation.


Paid state and national dues by November 1, 2007 (must be paid by October 15, 2007 for attendance at NFLC).


Participate in a minimum of two state projects:

  1. March of Dimes
  2. Arkansas Children's Hospital
  3. Gift of Life (ARORA)
  4. Contribute to the State Scholarship Fund
  5. Make-A-Wish
  6. Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD)


Participate in the Arkansas FBLA-PBL Foundation (contribution to obtain bronze, silver, or gold membership level or secure a minimum of $100 contribution to the foundation from the business community).


Submit a copy of any written chapter report (American Enterprise Project, Partnership with Business Project, Community Service Project, Local Chapter Annual Business Report) for competition by the established deadline for the State Leadership Conference. (Report must meet guidelines for competition. If a report is disqualified for failure to follow event guidelines, it will not count toward fulfilling requirements for Gold Seal.)


Send representatives to FBLA conferences sponsored by the state and district.

  1. District Fall Leadership Conference
  2. District Spring Leadership Conference
  3. State Leadership Conference


Submit an article to the Arkansas Business Leader

Keep good records. Documentation for all of the above items must be submitted to the state office by the deadline established for the State Leadership Conference.
